New Delhi/Moscow: Indian-origin astronaut Anil Menon has embarked on his first space mission, travelling aboard the Russian spacecraft Soyuz MS-29 as part of a mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
According to reports, Anil Menon is part of an international crew that also includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina. The team will undertake scientific and operational activities during their extended stay aboard the ISS.
The crew is expected to spend approximately eight months in orbit, conducting research experiments and supporting various space station operations before returning to Earth in April 2027.
Anil Menon’s journey marks a significant milestone in his career and adds another achievement to the growing participation of professionals of Indian origin in global space exploration programmes.
The mission reflects the increasing international cooperation in space research, with astronauts and cosmonauts from different countries working together on scientific studies, technological experiments, and advancing human understanding of space.
